Farmer, farmer, put away your DDT

Look around us… sigh, today was supposed to be doing my Sextant practice. But look up… there’s no sun. Since no sun, there’s no practice. And so I cant learn how to use the sextant. I keep asking where the sun is when you need it… I mean, on most days its sunny and hot and all and today, for once, I want the sun and it was not there.

But then again, I have no complaints; I can always do again another day (I hope) but look at the states and Japan. They too are raining; raining all day… correction. Stomp. They are having stomp that blow their homes away.

Did my presentation today, and was shock when the lecture praises the ‘leader’ for a good job. For crying out loud, I did all of them… I was the master mind behind all of these impressive slides. Oh well… so long I know I’ve did my part and I can sleep soundly every night, I know I am doing the right thing. So what if the world misunderstood me? I think that it’s the attitude that counts. As a leader, you are given the responsibility, the least you could is to take some responsibility, no take all the credit. If I were to be in this situation, I will not remain silence. If I were to be the leader, I will give the credit back to that noble soul, as I believe that if it’s not my effort, it’s not worth claiming it. I guess people who worked with me before will know.

During dinner, we were talking about chicken and eggs, (in case you don’t know, chicken and eggs are really rare in Singapore due to the chicken flue) I some how wonder back to Stone Age. First men hunt for food. Women hunt for fruits. Then we muster the art of agriculture. Then the art of farm, we come to the age that food is no longer a major problem in our life, then society advances. Then came, mad cow, chicken flue… basically problems with livestock. There must be a problem in this, and what I can think of is that the problem is in us. For vegetables and fruits, we have the problem with DDT too isn’t it?

What cause all these problem to our food chain, you are what you eat, and you are what you eat who eats what. Well… the last meat you’ve eaten could have eaten food with 85% DDT which you refused to eat. Or the remains of dead friends who was suffering from some sickness. And… well now the sickens and DDT is in you… So as we progress into a new age of science, maybe we can go into simple equations which a even a high school student can do… good day.
